A plush deer animal.
Black-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus Hemiones Columbianus) a subspecies of Mule Deer. Black-Tailed Deer prefer denser forested areas compared to their relatives. These creatures are often seen hanging out along Hwy. 46 as well as the parking lots of Oregon Caves National Monument & Preserve. If you come across a fawn lying around, don’t be concerned that it was abandoned; mother deer will leave their fawns safely camouflaged in the understory of a forest while she forages for food.
